Bersih....Ramai yang suka bersih tp betul ke ianya benar-benar BERSIH

Aku ingin menyentuh tentang isu bersih...perhimpunan bersih yang dilaungkan oleh NGO dan juga wakil-wakil parti pembangkang yang menuntut pilhanraya yang bersih dan telus oleh kerajaan. Dari segi niat aku suka sangat le perancangan ini. Tapi dari satu segi pulak...setelah perhimpunan in dibuat mana mereka yakin bahawa akan berlaku satu pilihanraya yang bersih akan ujud. Jika pihak SPR ikut tuntutan mereka..apakah mereka akan berpuashati. Contoh mereka kalah pada pilihanraya akan datang...confirm mereka kata pilihanraya itu tak telus dan ikut acuan dan kehendak kerajaan sedia ada....walau pun SPR mengikut kehendak NGO2 ini 100%. Jika mereka menang tp SPR tak buat apa-apa perubahan dan mengikut sistem sedia ada...saya yakin puak-puak ni akan mengatakan SPR telus dan in berlaku kerana tuntutan mereka melalui perhimpunan bersih.

Cerita kedua...perhimpunan bersih ini perjuangkan untuk golongan mana? Betul ke untuk rakyat...saya rasa nak tergelak pun ada. Tiba-tiba ada pula golongan tertentu seperti pemuda UMNO dan PERKASA ini turut buat perhimpunan nak pertahankan kredibiliti SPR. Yang aku nampak semua nya mula menjadi lebih rumit kepada orang-orang macam aku yang tak menyebelahi mana-mana puak samaada parti kerajaan atau pembangkang ini untuk berfikir tujuan sebenar perhimpunan BERSIH ni. Aku sekarang lebih berfikir tentang kesan kenaikan harga barang, masalah pendidikan yang memerlukan pembiayaan yang besar untuk anak-anak aku, peluang kerja bagi generasi kedua ni dan banyak lagi masalah hidup dan keperluan sara diri yang menjadi kesukaran sebilangan besar orang-orang di Malaysia ni. Bagus kalau parti-parti ni tak kisah le puak kerajaan atau pembangkang berfikir bagaimana nak menyelesai masalah-masalah ni daripada menunjuk pada kami bahawa perjuangan mereka adalah baik untuk rakyat dengan menyata slogan-slogan yang sungguh membosankan dan buat sakit hati, negara kebajikan le, negara islam le, all malaysia dan macam-macam lagi le. Asyik-asyik salah kan kerajaan, dan pihak kerajaan memerintah pulak menyalah pihak pembangkang...last-last siapa yang betul? Orang2 Malaysia bukan semuanya tak tahu punca-puca berlaku inflasi, diflasi, kenaikan harga bahan bakar, pengangguran, kenaikan harga barangan perlu dan penangguhan kerja-kerja pembangunan negara. Kesan ekonomi global dan kesan tidak perseimbangan pasaran dunia adalah faktor-faktor berlaku semua malapetaka kesukaran pada orang-orang malaysia. Jiran aku Singapore pun tertekan dengan kesan ekonomi kerana kadaran cukai barangan dan oerkhidmatan terpaksa dinaikkan pada kadaran 10%. Apa mereka saja-saja suka ke nak naikkan kadaran ini atau mereka terpaksa melakukannya. Semua pemimpin nak negara mereka stabil dan ini pasti akan menyenang mereka juga dalam menangani masalah kemarahan rakyat pada mereka. 

Kadang-kadang aku heran le ada pihak yang mengatakan mereka akan menurunkan harga minyak serta merta jika mereka memenagi pilihanraya.. Ape mereka ingat aku bodoh sangat ke? untuk percaya... hahaha...Kalau gitu mudah le..pasti PM Malaysia dah turunkan harga minyak. Mana ada negara-negara maju asyik turunkan harga bila berlaku kenaikkan harga. Apa pulak akan berlaku jika semua negara didunia ini akan akan beri subsidi demi untuk mengurangkan harga barang dan meyeroronokkan  rakyat mereka. Akan berlaku lagi satu kesan ekonomi yang pasti turut menjadi masalah pada rakyat jika semua pemimpin akan memberi subsidi untuk mengurangkan masalah kenaikkan harga barang.

Janganlah ingat semua rakyat malaysia bodoh sangat. Sepatutnya kamu pihak pemerintah atau pembangkang harus lebih rasional bekerjasama memikir cara langkah lebih telus untuk mengurangkan beban rakyat dasn bukan mendabik dada mengata mereka lah betul dan pasti akan dapat menyelesaikan masalah rakyat. Mana ada pemerintah dimuka bumi ni suka rakyat mereka menderita?

Dah lah bagus jangan ganggu ketenteraman awam...biarlah rakyat malaysia boleh cari makan dengan aman tanpa gangguan orang-orang politik yang asyik suka berpolitik...konon demi kebaikkan rakyat...dengan membuat pelbagai perhimpunan dan sesi ceramah sana sini...tak kira lah kerajaan atau pembangkang...sama je...ok lah jumpa lagi keceloteh aku yang lain pulak

CATATAN 2 - VISI SEKOLAH DAN VISI JABATAN

Minggu depan dengarnya Tuan Pengarah nak melawat daerah Batang Padang dan yang pasti ianya melibatkan kawasan Air Kuning, Banir, Tapah Road, Tapah, Bidor, Bikam, Sungkai, Trolak, Besaut, Slim River, Behrang, Behrang 2020 PRoton City dan Tanjung Malim tapi harus diingat tak lebih menyebelahi sungai Bernam kerana disitu masih Tanjung Malim tapi terletak dalam daerah negeri Selangor. Disekolah tempat aku mengajar SMK Slim dan semua sekolah daerah Batang Padang ini merupakan sekolah yang penghuninya terdiri daripada pelbagai bangsa, iaitu Melayu, Cina, India, Sikh dan Orang asli. Mereka mempunyai katogeri penghidupan sederhana sebab sebahagian besar adalah berkaitan sebagai pekebun kecil getah, sawit, peneroka felda, pekerja estet, peniaga kecil, penjaja,  pekerja sektor kerajaan, pekerja kilang proton, pekerja kilang pakaian dan yang lain -lain adalah student universiti pendidikan sultan idris dan student politeknik Sultan Azlan Shah Behrang yang bergantung hidup dengan ihsan PTPTN.

Pihak pentadbir sentiasa mengwar-war cerita lawatan  pada kakitangan, guru-guru serta pelajar-pelajar sekolah tentang lawatan pengarah ini. Objektif lawatan pada amnya adalah pemantauan dalam pembentukkan peningkatan akedemik maklumlah persekitaran luar bandar keseluruhan daerah ini adalah punca pencapaian kelulusan dalam peperiksaan awam sentiasa menjadi daerah yang tercorot pencapaiannya...termasuk sekolah tempat aku mengajar ni sentiasa mengalami tekanan pada perkara yang sama tapi taklah sampai yang tercorot diperingkat daerah..bak kata orang ada rangking juga kerana ada program KRK di SMK Slim ni.

Salah satu agenda utama sekolah ini adalah menyuruh pelajar-pelajar agar tahu akan VISI DAN MISI JPN negeri, PPD daerah dan sekolah agar bersedia untuk menjawab jika ditanya oleh ahli rombongan bersama pengarah nanti. Rasanya semua pentadbir sekolah-sekolah di daerah batang padang yang lain pun mesti sama juga nak murid dan pelajar mereka menghafal VISI dan MISI sebagai satu persiapan wajib untuk lawatan pengarah ini ke daerah Batang Padang ini. Slogan Visi dan Misi pun terus dicatat didinding sekolah dengan kemasnya dengan rekaan huruf dan warna yang ceria. Sungguh cantik mata memandang....

Betul ke persiapan pada VISI daN MISI harus diutamakan. Ini adakah betul-betul bertujuan untuk memberi kesedaran pada pelajar atau hanya satu cara untuk menunjuk pada pihak luar saja agar membuat satu tanggapan bahawa semua sekolah-sekolah di daerah Batang Padang ini telah mula berubah kearah kesedaran pada semua peringkat...dari pentadbir, guru-guru dan khususnya pelajar-pelajar telah menyambut cabaran pihak JPN untuk membuat satu transformasi kearah peningkatan akademik. Adakah ini betul-betul berlaku atau hanya satu drama tari yang cantik alunan tarinya ketika dipersembahkan di persada pentas tp akan dilupakan sebaik saja persembahan itu tamat dan keadaan seperti biasa sebelumnya akan berterusan bak kata orang macam dulu-dulu  balik lah.....visi hilang...misi pun lenyap...tunggu keputusan peperiksaan awam 2011...dan seterusnya perkara yang sama akan diteruskan seperti yang sedang berlaku sekarang....hafal VISI....hafal MISI

CATATAN AKU KE 3 - ' Teh tarik MAmak MaCam2 Kena BayaR '


Cerita pasal negara kita yang sentiasa bergolak dengan kenaikkan harga barang sentiasa jadi bahan cerita disetiap penjuru sudut kawasan...di kedai kopi-kopi, bilik-bilik guru sekolah, gerai, dalam teksi antara pemandu dengan penumpang, di stesyen bas / keretapi, di lobi pasaraya/ shopping mall dan mana aje. Ada yang pro memahami punca kenaikan harga barang dan kos perkhidmatan, ada yang kontra menyalah kerajaan kerana mengurangkan subsidi pada  bahan bakar dan keujudan cukai 5% pada produk barangan dan perkhidmatan. Maka ini secara langsung menyebabkan kenaikkan kadar bayaran bill astro baru-baru ini. Yang naik terus naik...tiba-tiba turun harga minyak ron 95 pada kadaran 10 sen. Yang hairan 10 sen naik mereka masih mencemuh kerana hanya 10 sen je. Diorang pandai betul pasal bercakap khusus pada perkara nak menyalahkan kerajaan. Ada stu lagi golongan yang lain pulak asyik nak puji kerajaan aje...biar pun harga gula naik dalam tempoh setahun dari RM1.30 menjadi RM1.45 sen dan seterusnya pada masa ini kekal pada harga RM2.30 sen..dan bila harga sebegini tak pulak ada lagi masalah kekurangan gula lagi.
Awal tahun dulu sebahagian besar rakyat malaysia dibebankan dengan saman ekor dan masalah pembaharuan road tax dan cdL. Sekarang ni perkara ni dah takde lagi...kerana sistem saman kelajuan telah diubah format baru berkuatkuasa 1hb Mei 2011. Ada le cakap-cakap dikalangan rakyat Malaysia kononnya kerajaan terpaksa memperbanyakkan saman ekor kerana memerlukan punca kewangan yang banyak untuk menampung by-election yang kerap sejak 2010 hingga 2011 serta pilihanraya negeri Sarawak. Aku  hanya mendengar aje dan sampai la ni pun masih tak pasti akan kesahihannya.
Sejak seminggu dua ni ada iklan MYEG online service ditayangkan di tv termasuk le stesyen tv berbayar astro. Cerita iklan berkisar digerai teh tarik dan makan mamak. Lucu dan menarik iklan ini. Dari iklan ini jelas memang betul Malaysia mempunyai ramai penduduk-penduduk yang sentiasa dibebani dengan pelbagai bayaran...saman PDRM, saman JPJ, saman DBKL, kutipan revenue hasil DBKL, hutang PTPTN, Bil-bil talipon, TNB dan macam-macam lagi boleh dibayar melalui online myeg. Aku senyum menonton iklan ini. Betul le iklan ni...negara aku ni memang pelik sampai terpaksa mengiklan service gini, seolah-olah mengaku bahawa kadar pembayar saman dan penanggung hutang di Malaysia memang tinggi kadarnya. Tak cukup ke perkhidmatan kaunter dan agensi pengutipan oleh bank-bank pada perkara penjelasan hutang, denda/saman dan bayaran bil perkhidmatan tenaga di negara ni lagi. Bank pun dah sedia perkhidmatan bayaran melalui online dan teller machine mereka. Masih tak cukup ke? Sampai nak ada satu agensi khusus iaitu Myeg dan diiklan pulak secara besar-besaran melalui tv. Buat malu je...dan ini jelas kite ni, orang Malaysia memang betul terpaksa membayar macam-macam bayaran untuk menerima perkhidmatan dan juga denda serta saman sehingga ianya perlu diklankan kat talivisyen...Aku terkejut mendengar salah seorang anak aku yang sedang cuti semester akhir yang kebetulan ada masa aku menonton talivisyen bersembang dengan adiknya dan lari ke depan tv kerana nak tengok iklan yang dipanggilnya 'Teh Tarik Mamak Macam-Macam Kena Bayar'....aku senyum dan memikir sejenak....Hihihi jumpa lagi untuk caTAtan celoteh lain kali...


Catatan 4 - Penat Je Cuti


Hari ni cuti peristiwa bagi sekolah...Tapi setiap guru dan murid wajib pergi sekolah. Hairankan...tapi ini dah berlaku 3 hingga 4 tahun kebelakangan ni. Sebab dia mudah je.. kerana hari ini ialah temasya sukan tahunan sekolah. Semua guru terlibat dengan program ini...dan ini secara langsung wajib bagi semua guru hadir sebelum jam 7.00 kerana terpaksa buat persediaan perasmian pada jam 8.00 pagi. Hari esok jumaat sekolah akan berjalan seperti biasa. Dulu-dulu sejak mula aku jadi cikgu pada tahun 1981 selepas sukan pasti akan diumumkan cuti khas sempena sukan keesokkannya. Tapi sekarang tak boleh...kerana hari sukan tak boleh dibuat pada hari persekolahan. Jadi kejohanan olahraga tahunan seolah-olah tak termasuk dalam kurikulam dan ianya tak ubah seperti aktiviti luar macam hari keluarga. Dengan itu pihak sekolah terpaksa membuat sukan dengan mengambil cuti rehat  pada hari berkenaan. Sekolah aku ni ada 2 sesi..belah pagi dan petang...jadi buat sukan sebelah pagi ke atau petang same je...mesti ambil cuti peristiwa. Semua murid dan guru-guru terpaksa menanggung penat pada hari cuti peristiwa ni. Yang sedihnya terpaksa ke sekolah hari esoknya walau penat bagai nak giler.


Yang jadi tandatanya...adakah kejohanan olahraga tahunan ini juga sebahagian daripada kurikulam atau ianya hanya dianggap sebagai aktiviti luar aje.


Tandatanya kedua...awal-awal pagi lagi semua guru terpaksa key in kehadiran kat komputer. Mengapa kena key in ya...sedangkan ini adalah hari cuti. Jika ada yang lambat key in....warna merah pada catatan kehadiran akan berlaku. Pelik dan aku betul-betul tak faham konsep cuti peristiwa yang diumumkan sempena sukan sekolah ni. Sistem yang kononnya baik dan terancang tapi sebenarnya bagi pandangan aku cukup cacamarba khusus pada perkara cuti peristiwa dan hari sukan tahunan ni.


Jika ada salah seorang guru tak hadir tanpa sebab, adakah ia akan dianggap melanggar perintah? Adakah tindakan disiplin boleh diambil keatasnya? Jika tiada tindakan diambil pada guru ini kerana tak hadir..maka tidak adil le pula pada guru-guru lain yang hadir  kerana terpaksa bertungkus lumus hari cutinya menyelenggara sukan tahunan pada hari berkenaan.


Perlu ke guru atau sememangnya wajib melaksanakan tugas pada cuti peristiwa sempena temasya sukan ni sebagai arahan ' menurut perintah '. Balik pada kehadiran guru, kemunkinan besar tindakan tidak diambil oleh pihak sekolah pada guru yang tidak hadir..tapi guru berkenaan confirm akan dicop sebagai malas, tidak menurut perintah dan akan berterusan dianggap dan dipandang negatif oleh pihak sekolah.


Aku ni bukan ape...tapi ialah hanya sekadar membuat catatan untuk membuat sedikit kelegaan pada diri aku ni yang tak faham konsep cuti peristiwa dan kejohanan olahraga tahunan sekolah yang dianggap aktiviti luar sekolah dan bukan sebahagian daripada kurikulam atau p&p (pengajaran dan pembelajaran)...Ok jumpa lagi ke catatan yang akan bersambung seterusnya.

Golden days to be remember

Golden days to be remember - My former SRJK(I) SLIM RIVER

Go to any primary school today and children are playing and laughing gardens, but nearly 46 years ago it was quite a different place.

SRJK (I) Slim River (Government English Primary School) a simple wooden buildings once formed part of the English School, in year 1965 “school” for children need English as a motivator in their coming living hood establishment.

As part of Slim River 53th anniversary the man from Slim is looking at places that form part of the town’s history.

A history by Saiful Anuar Safian, been neglected or overlook? The SRJK (I) School, records it was opened in the early 1930’s or 40’s  following the neglected and overlook  to accommodate the increasing number of deserted or neglected in English education children in the aftermath of the Slim community.

The school’s aim was to teach the children English as an art of living for success

In a review by Head Master Mr Wazir Singh 1965, 10 of the 80 boys at the time had achived  a good achievement in the standard five assessment examination, which caused 4 boys and girls to lose their opportunity to gain the secondary educations allocations in the special Malays classes programme in Anderson School Ipoh due to poverty and parents interest.

At its height, the school was plagued with problems ranging from inadequate class room, shortage of water in the student comfort room , below standard electrical wiring and furnitures.the 1965 generation still trusted SRJK(I) as the main stream for sucessing English learning for their future.

A single story building then formed part of the SRJK (I)  that then became the headmaster office and administration Centre and a few class room in 1969.

The principal Mr Wazir Singh said a lot of work went into restoring the buildings and grounds of this school.

“We did take away additions that weren’t in keeping with the heritage of the site,” He said.

“To even look at the trees, someone had the foresight to plant them and now they’re heritage-listed.

“I feel quite privileged to realise we’re walking where they walked and there are some very sad stories of the past.

But from a cold history with not enough water or resources, SRJK (I) is now a school educating 400 pupils in very different conditions.

“During our curriculum we do revisit the history from time to time,” Mr Wazir Singh  said especially during the Monday weekly assembly held.

Epa pegi UITM Perak Sri Iskandar pada 21.05.2011

Semalam aku hantar  anak ke 4 aku ke UITM ke Seri Iskandar. Bertolak jam 6.25 padi dari Slim melalui jalan pesekutuan masuk ke Simpang atas pekan Sungkai untuk ke jalan Bidor Teluk Intan. Teruskan perjalanan dari situ ke arah bidor dan selepas Cold Stream masuk kanan melalui Jalan Chuicak hingga sampai ke pekan Langkap. Dekat situ ada simpang tiga dan ada lampu isyarat dan aku terus ke arah kanan ke petunjuk kearah Ipoh dan berjalan lebih kurang 3 hingga 4 min sampai ke simpang ke Kampung Gajah / Teluk Intan. Terus memandu melalui pelbagai kampung dan tak silap ada satu yang bernama Chenderong Balai...dan aku teruskan perjalanan sehingga sampai satu simpang yang menunjuk arah ke Kampung Gajah dan Sri Iskandar. Masuk terus ke simpang itu dan terus perjalanan hingga ke Kampung Gajah dan berhenti minum di satu kedai kopi di situ. Teruskan perjalanan pada simpang kearah Bota dan Sri Iskandar...Jarak dari situ ke Sri Iskandar lebih kurang 30 km. Melalui pelbagai pekan kecil seperti Lambor dan seterusnya Bota yang penuh sesak dengan orang ramai berbelanja pada pasar lambak yang diadakan betul-betul pada jalan utama pekan itu. Teruskan perjalanan hingga sampai ke persimpangan empat yang menunjuk arah ke Parit, Lumut bahagian kanan dan Ipoh / Sri Iskandar kiri. Ambil simpang sebelah kiri dan teruskan perjalanan ke Sri Iskandar..masa tu jam menunjuk jam 8.48 minit...Lebih kurang 8 minit memandu sampai le ke Kampus UITM Perak yang terletak disebelah kiri dan perlu buat U turn untuk ke UITM...sampai lebih kurang jam 8.55 minit dan terus ke Blog Cemara kolej Pasir Salak untuk membuat pendaftaran pagi itu...Selesailah kerja pendaftaran.


Jam 3.00 petang setelah makan dan epa masuk dewan makan kolej..maka aku pun pulang untuk ke Kampung Gajah dan singgah jumpa Iqah di MRSM Pasir Salak. Setelah makan bersama di salah satu waqaf di perkarangan asrama puteri di situ, aku pun pulang pada petang sabtu tu dan tiba di rumah pada jam 6.58 petang. Maka selesai le satu lagi tanggungjawab seorang insan yang bergelar bapa melaksanakan tanggungjawab memberi pendidikan pada anak- anaknya dimuka bumi Allah s.w.t.
Setelah seminggu aku dan keluarga teruskan perjalanan seterusnya. tapi kali ini pergi melawat peringkat kedua selepas orientasi atau kata orang dulu-dulu ragging. Anak aku Epa ni, mula rasa takut dan tidak begitu faham akan laluan ke fakulti ICT dan matematik untuk programnya dibidang sains kuantitatif yang melibatkan program matematik dan statistik di kampus cawangan ni. Dah lak tu, pada minggu orientasi tu cermin matanya pula pecah...jadi bertambah takutlah dia kerana tidak nampak dan untuk mengigati laluan. Adalah satu perkara yang sukar baginya dan kesian anak ku ni. Sampailah aku tengahari tu selepas solat jumaat di kawasan kolej pasir salak di blog cemara. Sesampai aku disitu maka jalan laluan kerete dipenuhi pelajar baru lelaki yang berbaris hingga menggangu pemanduan aku seketika. Aku talipon Epa dan katanya menunggu aku disatu kawasan kolej berhadapan dengan dewan makan kolej tapi tak pasti kolej ape. Aku mula le hairan kenape dia boleh tak tahu dan ini menjadi tandatanya.....untuk aku
Aku mula le memandu sambil melihat kesemua kawasan kolej yang ada disekitar kampus tapi wajah epa tetap aku tak nampak. Aku dah mula penat...dan akhirnya aku terpaksa minta bantuan dari seorang senior atau kakak facie....dan akhir aku jumpa le Epa dengan bantuan si kakak facie ni, Aku baru tahu Epa ni bukan takut hingga tak kenal laluan dan bangunan serta blok persekitaran kampus....tapi yang sebenarnya berlaku...dia tak gitu nampak kerana cermin matanya pee....caah di pijak rakan pada tika selepas sembahyang jemaah pada minggu orientasi dua tiga hari yang lalu. Aku pun pulang membawanya balik dan berhenti minum petang di kedai di Langkap sebelum teruskan perjalanan ke Chui Chak

Happy Birthday Mohd Hafizul Saiful Anuar,

Today you turn twenty. That's an important age...right there between childhood and adulthood, perched precariously at the point where you're too old for a lot of things but too young for many others.

You're growing up so fast. It doesn't seem like any time at all since you were just a thought...a wish. From the moment your mother and I married, we knew we wanted you. Your name was chosen long before we knew we would have you...Mohd Hafizul...strong and manly.  

Just the idea of you brought joy to our lives. It took a few years, but eventually we were blessed from Allah s.w.t and found ourselves awaiting your entrance to the world. You must have been eagerly anticipating greeting the world as well, because you decided to arrive one months earlier than science and nature intended.

It was a very frightening time for us. You were so small, so fragile, clinging to life. The doctors from the Dutchess of Kent Hospital in Sandakan thought you would be hospitalized for at least 1, maybe 2 months...but what a fighter you turned out to be! We brought all 5 pounds, 7 ounces of you home with us only one days after you were born, and ever since then, we've marvelled at your strength.

I sit here and think back to the night you were born on the 10^th of April 1988.You tucked away within my body, just the three of us.  You and Mak shared private moments that no one else could take part in.  A Mak, Abah and Syafina Fasya bond created even before we laid eyes on one another.

I knew you were coming that cold night twenty three years ago.  My body knew and it gave me queues all afternoon. I reveled in the thought that I would soon hold you within my arms.  I stayed at home for as long as possible knowing I wanted to have you to myself for just a bit longer. That’s Mak told abah about you on the 9^th of April.

You’re not the most patient child, never have been so it’s no surprise that my labor with you was extremely fast and hard.  Once you decided you wanted to see the world there was no slowing you down.  I nearly had you at home!  My body and I worked together like magic and birthing you gave me one of the most empowering and uplifting experiences of my life that your mak words to abah.  Not only were you born that night but something within me, a feeling of pure strength and empowerment that I’ve never before felt in my life, was also born that night. 

When they laid you against my chest I looked down at your angelic plump face and thanked Allah s.w.t.  I felt the presence of Abah wrapped around the both of us.  My heart was bursting with love and it was as if you and I had known each other all of our lives. 

As you grow and experience life, I want you to remember who you are and where you come from. Remember that you are strong and you can accomplish anything no matter how long the roads to your goals look.   Nothing is impossible.  Think outside the box.  Always have faith and stay true to yourself.  Be confident and take pride in who you are but also stay level headed.  Remember that everyone is different and different is beautiful.  You will realize that beauty will get you many things but always remember that the inner beauty you hold within is the most powerful and what will make you the most beautiful.  Be kind and compassionate.  Not only to everything around you, but also to yourself.  Stay safe and treat your body as a temple. 

Laugh.  Oh do laugh!  Your giggle is just one of the many things I love so much about you.  The room lights up when you laugh and my heart sings.  Laugh with your friends, laugh at the world, and laugh at yourself.  If you can’t laugh at yourself then you take life too seriously.   

Dream big.  Dream colorful.  Dream magic.  Dream beyond the stars.  Everything big starts as something small.  Leap high and go for it! 

I have faith in you my beautiful daughter.  I love you forever and look forward to a lifetime of experiences with you.  Thank you for all the smiles and even some of the tears.  Thank you for always loving me and teaching me everyday how to be a better person.  Thank you for being a part of our family.  But most of all…Thank you for just being you.

Terima Call dari kawan lama...

Aku terima call dari kawan lama Rafdi @ yengge pada jam 4.15 petang. Masa tu hujan lebat di Slim ni. Masa tu juga berlaku hujan batu...bila kedengaran bunyi percikan batu ke tingkap cermin. Aku dan anak aku Suhaifaniza Fasya serta isteri aku pergi ke balcony dan betul-betul dapat melihat ketulan ais kecil penuh dilantai, lebih kurang sama saiz dengan buah biji saga. Kilat dan guruh amat kuat pada petang dan kami terus masuk. Balik pada cerita panggilan talipon kawan aku tadi. Sebenar dia nak ke Slim River petang tu berjumpa aku. Sebagai pengetahuan semua Rafdi ni kawan aku semasa menuntut di Tingkatan enam di sekolah Asrama Penuntut Kerajaan Negeri Perak pada tahun 1976 dan tahun 1977 dulu...Dan hari ini ialah 4hb April 2011 dan ini bererti kami tak pernah berjumpa sejak hari akhir persekolahan pada bulan November 1977.... dan hari ini bererti aku akan berjumpa dengan seorang sahabat lama setelah 34 tahun tidak berjumpa. Hati dan naluri ini sangat-sangat ingin berjumpa dengannya.. Aku talipon sahabat ini semula dan dia memberi response bahawa pada selepas magrib ni dia akan bertolak dari Kampar ke Slim River. Tengah aku menonton siaran tv Awan Dania tibe-tibe ada call dari Rafdi dan menyatakan dia dah sampai. Masa tu jam menunjukan jam 9.30 malam, dan dia menyatakan dia berada di depan Pasaraya Sakan dekat kawasan bandar baru slim. Aku pun terus kesana dan betul-betul jumpa dia disana dan terus kami beredar di sebuah kedai makan yang dikenali sebagai restoran Bryani baru  dihujung pekan Slim River ni. Kami sempat bersalaman dan berpelukan,  kerana lama tak pernah berjumpa dan terus buat pesanan minum teh tarik untuk aku dan dia minta kopi misai kucing..

Macam-macam hal kami bualkan dari cerite kawan-kawan seangkatan dan diri masing-masing. Kami bersembang hingga jam 11.45 malam kerana dia terpaksa balik ke Kampar semula. Aku sangat gembira mendengar khabar cerita kawan-kawan yang lama yang aku tak pernah dengar khabar mereka sebelum ini...Bagi aku malam itu satu keseronokkan yang sangat menyenangkan... Sebelum pulang kami menyuruh pelayan kedai mengambil gambar dengan mengguna handphone sebab aku terlupa bawa kamera bersama.....

Dear Noratiqah Fasya:

I've been debating what to write for your annual birthday letter wanting to give you bright, happy thoughts.

I can't believe you're going to be sixteen years old on the 30^th march 2011. It seems like only a blink away I saw you swaddled in white in the Dutchess of Kent hospital. I'm so glad you have such a great family. I (Abah) loves you so much and create phone call all the time about how you're doing. Mak keep on remebering your first al quran recital since your age began seven..I just can’t twist a rewind of it.

They should tell me you're having your party at the mrsm boarding school that you really love it. I know you'll have a blast. In my unusual tradition I'll be releasing the balloons at the park where we had Placement sixteen of them this year. I'll watch them float up to the sky and again wish you a happy birthday as the balloons climb higher and higher into the clouds. My once deep sorrow has now turned into heartfelt happiness knowing that you enjoy a new, good life each day with your adoptive parents that your homeroom and your school mates. You get to have all the things I was never able to give you including peace and stability which every child deserves.

Soon the Akedemi Fantasia will be on t.v. again just like two year years ago when I watched, the concerts with you. Those were memorable times I will treasure always.

I used to be awkward when asked about you by others but now I proudly say, "She lives with her adoptive family n friends in Kampung Gajah." I do have some of your pictures displayed all over our tarrace home like in the commonroom where a copy of your kindergarten hangs by some of my framed collection on the cabinet at home. Now I can't imagine my life without you. It is like the chapters before you came along don't exist.

Every day I thank God Allah s.w.t for you.

Iqah HAPPY birthday

The man named Ramlan Ramsoo, now in their 50s, began knowing as a best gaya college friends...knowing each other when they were about 20 years old. In the past three months we  have been e-mailing each other via facebook social streaming creation.

Years of sending photographs and mementos came to a special climax when Zainal Abidin Yaacob, of  Penang Isles, arrived in Slim River on June 18 2010 to visit me. The one meeting at Aloha Restaurant a wellknown Mamak food centre in Slim River hit it off instantly.

This sparked a local meet that one man would find in his own country that was not released in the other country

Their first in-person visit turned out pleasant and there may be more planned in the future. But for certain they will continue the internet chats and a local reunion gathering if there is hope on it.

MEMOIR BY TUN DR MAHATHIR LAUNCHED TOMORROW

Bernama - Tuesday, March 8

KUALA LUMPUR, March 7 (Bernama) -- The much-awaited memoir by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, entitled "A Doctor in the House: The Memoirs of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad", will be launched tomorrow by the MPH Group of Companies.

MPH general manager Ivy Tan said the 800-page book, priced at RM100 each, "will take readers on a journey known to very few outside Tun''s immediate family."

"From his earliest memories of childhood, including at the time when Malaya''s struggles through the sunset of British colonialism, World War II and Independence to his life as a doctor," she said in a statement issued here, today.

She said the book, which would be released for sale at 10am tomorrow, brought to life the history of Malaysia "as seen through the eyes of one who often played a vital and, in later years, decisive role in the nation''s growth and development."

The book is all about the former prime minister''s frank, candid, often humorous, and occasionally unforgiving assessment of the times he lived through and helped shape, she said.

Dr Mahathir is expected to attend the media launch of the book in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow evening.

PETALING JAYA - Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is unconcerned about possible lawsuits over his memoirs. Dr Mahathir said he was driven to tell the truth in his autobiography A Doctor in the House. "There will be those who will not be satisfied. If they want to sue, sue lah," he quipped after launching the book at Mid Valley Megamall yesterday.

" Dr Mahathir said he had kept its publication a secret Dr Mahathir said during his tenure as Prime Minister, he was described as a dictator. until the launch date to avoid a possible court injunction to stop its release. "I want people to read it. Whatever they think of it is their prerogative," he said. It took him eight years to write the autobiography, he said. "I did not type. I used long hand." "(In the autobiography) I tried to prove that I am not. But some people will still feel otherwise," he said. To a question, Dr Mahathir said that through his biography, he wanted to deliver the message that it was not impossible to achieve anything when one is willing to learn.

Dr Mahathir also took a swipe at Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim whom he accused had claimed credit for certain things. "He (Anwar) is claiming that the setting up of UIA (International Islamic University Malaysia) was his idea," he said. On his next project, Dr Mahathir said he would look into rewriting The Malay Dilemma. "I was a commoner, I was not trained in the field of administration, economics or finance. But you can learn if you want to learn. The best reward is not monetary gains but the results of your effort," he said.

"When they (the Malays) were poor they were in a dilemma. When they are rich, there is a bigger dilemma," he said.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 — Malaysia’s biggest race is like the displaced Palestinian Arabs who seem nationalistic but cannot resist selling away their rights to high bidders, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad wrote in memoirs released yesterday.

Dr Mahathir has been an ardent defender and critic of the Malay race, and has both written and commented extensively on the community and its future direction.

“Outwardly, the Malays seem to be nationalistic, at times to the point of being racist. They can become very anti-Chinese and do not hesitate to be rude and unreasonable when criticising them. Their attitude recalls the behaviour of the Arabs in Palestine,” the former prime minister wrote in his autobiography, “A Doctor In The House: The Memoirs of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad”.

“Nationalist or not, they could not resist the prices offered,” Dr Mahathir said in his comparison of the two races half a world apart.

He observed that while the Arabs were strident in condemning the Zionists for carving out an Israel state out of their land, they had also “willingly sold their land to the Jews”.

“I am not suggesting that our Chinese Malaysians are like the Jews, only that the Malays have acted like the Palestinian Arabs,” said Dr Mahathir, a known world leader in championing Palestine’s cause against the Zionist regime in the strife-ridden Middle East conflict.

Closer to home, he is known as the patron of pro-Malay rights group, Perkasa, which has been lobbying the Najib administration to keep the New Economic Policy (NEP).

The NEP was a 20-year national policy introduced by in 1971 to boost Malay and Bumiputera ownership in the corporate sector to at least 30 per cent, but failed; an outcome which Dr Mahathir himself acknowledged in the book published this month by MPH Group Publishing.

The Malaysian prime minister from 1981 to 2003 said this was due to the Malays’ own weaknesses.

“Malays like to believe or claim that the Chinese have succeeded in business through cheating. Yet when a Malay wants to sign a contract (to build a house, for example), he will not give it to a Malay contractor. He would prefer a Chinese contractor. He obviously trusts the Chinese more than the Malays,” he pointed out.

“Many Malays have become so used to a life of continual economic support, that when the flow stops they simply cannot continue on their own. Rather than learn about business and managing money, they spend their energies on cultivating contracts and gaining access to easy, short-term

opportunities,” Dr Mahathir further observed in the book published nearly eight years after he left public office.

The retired medical doctor who turns 86 in July said that as a Malay, he does not want to “denounce the bad work ethic of so many Malays” but hopes that his honesty will help prod them into action for their own sake.

“I fear that those brave words of Malay defiance — Takkan Melayu hilang di dunia (Malays shall never disappear from this world) — will one day come back to haunt us.

“Preventing this from happening has been the biggest challenge of my life and of my generation,” Dr Mahathir wrote in the 809-page tome.

The country’s longest-serving prime minister announced his political retirement in tears in 2002, saying he had failed to change the Malay mindset but was persuaded by Umno to remain as party president and premier until 2003, when he handed power to then deputy Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

While Abdullah went on to win the ruling Barisan Nasional’s (BN) biggest majority of 91 per cent of parliament seats, Dr Mahathir went on to campaign against his successor for allegedly promoting his (Abdullah’s) family and friends at the expense of others.

In a stunning reversal of fortune, Abdullah then led BN to its worst electoral losses in Election 2008, when it lost 82 parliamentary seats and four states to an opposition pact led by Dr Mahathir’s sacked deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Dr Mahathir has come back to public prominence under new prime minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, and even rejoined Umno, which he left in a huff in protest against Abdullah, who resigned from his post in April 2009.

Dr Mahathir: 'Malaysians must have fighting spirit'

(Bernama) - Malaysians must have fighting spirit and strong character to ensure that they are able to stand up and defend the country against its enemies, said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

The former prime minister said Malaysians must also be prepared to fight for a cause, for oneself and for their families, and should not be defeated easily.

It was his principle in life that whatever happens, "we must fight, win and able to stand up again", he told reporters after launching his memoir "A Doctor in the House: The Memoirs of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad", here Tuesday.

The trouble with most Malaysia Today readers is that they will disagree with everything Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says even when he’s right. And in that same spirit they will agree with whatever the opposition leaders say even when they are wrong.

We must be able to agree when agreement is due and agree to disagree when disagreement is due -- or else we will be just like cattle with a herd mentality.

Take what Dr Mahathir said above: Malaysians must have fighting spirit and strong character to ensure that they are able to stand up and defend the country against its enemies.

Okay, before you get your knickers all twisted into knots, stop, take a deep breath, and reflect on what Dr Mahathir just said. And pray tell what is wrong with what he said? What he said is absolutely right. Malaysians must have fighting spirit and strong character to ensure that they are able to stand up and defend the country against its enemies.

Now, who does Dr Mahathir mean by ‘enemies of the country’? Let me list them down, although not necessarily in order of priority.

Top of the list are politicians who abuse their power, are corrupted, and steal the taxpayers’ hard-earned money. The majority of these people would be in Barisan Nasional although there are also a few in Pakatan Rakyat.

These people can be classified as ‘Enemy Number One’ whom we need to defend Malaysia against. Therefore we need to kick them out come the next election. And to do that we would need to register as voters and make sure that we come out to vote.

Next on my list would be corrupt civil/public servants, Ministers included. They are costing the country a lot of money, money that could have instead be used to improve health care, educational facilities, roads, and whatnot.

Schools, hospitals and housing for the poor could have been built with the billions that the country has wasted over the last 35 years since the mid-1970s. Malaysia has earned and spent an estimated RM2,000 billion since the mid-1970s. That is two trillion ringgit of OUR money.

Third on my list are bigots, racists, religious freaks intolerant of those not of their religious beliefs, Malaysians who judge other people according to their warped standards, hypocrites who condemn others but are devils disguised as angels, the holier than thou who think they know best the road to heaven and hell, and all those people you would never invite to your party.

Fourth would be the cakap banyak (talk too much) people who have so much bad things to say about the government but do not do their duty in changing the government.

You find many of these people getting drunk at the Long Bar in Selangor Club. They will foam at the mouth and preach to you about what is wrong with the country but have never voted in their life. Some are not even registered as voters.

Fifth are those who agree that the country is going to the dogs but will still vote for the government they condemn because of cari makan reasons (looking after their stomach).

Some of these people will argue that it is better that we support the devil we know than an angel we don’t know. They will say that at least with a corrupt government we can get things done by paying ‘under the table’. In short, corruption facilitates what would not be possible with a clean government.

Sixth on my list are judges who rule based on what is good for their careers and to ensure their promotion is not blocked and that they would not instead be sent into ‘cold storage’. These judges will do what the political masters want and not what the law stipulates.

Seventh are the corrupt police officers who serve the political masters, protect the underworld, assassinate ‘criminals’ who they can’t get enough evidence to put on trial, and put in jail on trumped up charges all those who oppose the government.

Eighth is the Election Commission that ensures Barisan Nasional will never be defeated by running a fraudulent election.

Ninth is the Anti-Corruption Commission that makes sure all corrupt Barisan Nasional politicians escape punishment while they fabricate charges against opposition politicians and send them to jail.

Tenth are the editors of the mainstream electronic and print media who turn TV/radio stations and newspapers into a propaganda arm of the ruling party.

There are or course many more enemies of the country such as BTN, VCs of universities, Chinese ‘running dogs’ of Umno, Indian ‘mandores’ of Barisan Nasional, etc., who are doing a great disservice to the country. Nevertheless, the top ten I listed above are the enemies of Malaysia whom Dr Mahathir said we must defend the country against.

So, how can we disagree with Dr Mahathir? What the Tun said is absolutely true and when he says something true we must agree with him. We must defend Malaysia against these enemies of the country. And there are many such enemies who we need to defeat.

As Dr Mahathir said: Malaysians must also be prepared to fight for a cause, for oneself and for their families, and should not be defeated easily.
